we continue breaking news coverage this evening of u.s. air strikes against iran-backed militias in iraq and syria. the military action is a sharp escalation in the administration s effort to stop the rising threat from the iran- backed groups across the middle east. earlier this evening, u.s. central command released video of one of the c1 bombers used to carry out the air strike. and in a call the national security council spokesperson laid out the details of the attack. the u.s. military forces struck more than 85 targets and seven facilities utilized by iran s islamic revolutionary guard corps who was responsible three of the facilities in iraq, four of them are in syria. numerous aircraft, including b1 bombers, dispatched from the united states were involved in this operation, firing more than 125 precision guided munitions over the course of about 30 minutes. target facilities included command and control centers as well as headquarters buildings and intelligence
