PETALING JAYA: Two localities in the country – one in Kelantan and another in Sarawak – will be placed under the enhanced movement control order from April 16 to 29.
Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said SM Ugama (Arab) Tarbiah Diniah Tahfiz Bunut Sarang Burung in Tumpat, Kelantan, had detected 50 positive Covid-19 cases out of 113 tests conducted.
He said the cases were spread among the residents in the school and the infectivity rate in the locality was high. The enhanced MCO is to enable the Health Ministry to control the movement of residents and to avoid the spread of Covid-19 to communities outside the school, he said in a statement on Thursday (April 15).
