Mitchell’s Jean Morris practices what she preaches.
She is the epitome of the 4-H motto: Learn To Do By Doing, and she has done it for 38 years, earning her a prestigious 4-H Ontario Arbor Award, an honour recognizing exemplary volunteer service with 4-H and with the community late last month.

Morris and neighbour Caroline Vivian started their own 4-H life skills club when their respective daughters were old enough, scheduling meetings around the daily chores on the farm. She remembers taking 4-H as a child with the leader a friend’s mother.
