SAN JOSE, Antique, April 16 (PIA) The use of S-PaSS, a travel management system developed by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), is now required for travelers coming into the province of Antique.
S-PASS, which stands for Safe, Swift and Smart Passage, can facilitate local travel where people can access information on travel restrictions implemented by various local government units (LGU) due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In her Facebook post, Governor Rhodora Cadiao said the travel app eases the coordination in areas with different travel restraints.
“The said app is only adaptable when people are traveling from places that have different travel restrictions than ours, that is, from outside of the province or the region. It is not a contact tracing app, such as staysafe.ph,” Cadiao said.

In a bid to encourage Filipinos itching to travel after almost a year in lockdown to rediscover their own backyard, the Philippines’ Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases has announced new travel protocols.
In an online media briefing on 27 February, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced that under the IATF Resolution No. 101, the IATF approved uniform travel protocols for land, sea, and air travel crafted by the Department of Interior and Local Government with closed coordination with local government units.
