Sturgis man charged with murder in crash that killed child in Branch Co.

BRANCH COUNTY, Mich. â A Sturgis man is facing charges for murder and manslaughter after investigators say he hit three children with a car, killing one.
Daniel Silich is facing 11 charges, including second-degree murder, manslaughter, failing to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in death, reckless driving causing death, tampering with evidence, using methamphetamine and fentanyl.
The crash took place on April 5 in Branch County. Thatâs when troopers responded to a crash in Branch County after receiving a call about a vehicle that witnesses say veered off the road and hit three children.
Monday, Jan. 25
Personal Injury Accident â Officers were dispatched to a two-car personal injury accident. One driver was found to be operating a vehicle without security. The driver was given an appearance date and the vehicle was towed.
Wednesday, Jan. 27
Suspicious Situation â Officers were called to a residence for a possible intruder. No one was found inside the residence.
Criminal Sexual Conduct â Officers were dispatched to a possible sexual assault. The case remains open at this time.
Wednesday, Feb. 3
Abandoned Vehicle â While on patrol, Officers discovered a vehicle parked on city property. The vehicle had a flat tire and no license plate. Officers had the vehicle impounded.
