Vaccine bookings to begin for 40-plus next week

As more than 1.2 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine arrive in B.C. communities this month, the Province plans to step up its immunization rollout.
This means people aged 40 and older will be invited to book next week.
Invitations to book will be sent via text or email for:
Friday, May 7: 46+ (1975) after 7:00 pm (Pacific time)
Sunday, May 9: 43+ (1978) after 7:00 pm (Pacific time)
Tuesday, May 11: 40+ (1981) after 7:00 pm (Pacific time)
People must register through B.C.’s ‘Get Vaccinated’ system to get an email or text notification prompting them to book an appointment when it’s their turn.

People aged 40 and older will be invited to book as early as next week.
Invitations to book will be sent via text or email for: Friday, May 7: 46+ (1975) after 7 p.m. (Pacific time); Sunday, May 9: 43+ (1978) after 7 p.m. (Pacific time); Tuesday, May 11: 40+ (1981) after 7 p.m. (Pacific time).

Valley vaccination clinic ongoing until May 7
Interior Health is this morning reminding residents of a COVID-19 vaccination clinic ongoing at the Invermere Catholic Church.
The clinic is running from today (May 3) until May 7 for all residents 18 and over who have a Columbia Valley postal code
, from south of Canal Flats up to Spillimacheen (area shown above).
Appointments are required. Residents of these communities may register for their vaccine appointment at community specific clinics by calling 1-833-838-2323 between 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., MDT, seven days a week or by registering online with their Personal Health Number HERE.
Pharmacies across the Thompson Okanagan are providing AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccinations to those ages 55-65. The vaccines are available in government-selected communities including Kamloops, Kelowna, Westbank and Vernon. These shots are available for the first dose of a patient s COVID-19 vaccine only, according to the B.C. Pharmacy Association. The association notes distribution of vaccines is ongoing and will be delivered to pharmacies based when supply arrives. Pharmacies with online booking ask residents to try booking online before calling. Some locations may allow for drop-in service. Residents will be required to bring their Personal Health Number, found on their CareCard or B.C. Services Card.
