FCPS announces return to in-person schedule

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) â In an email on Tuesday, Fayette County Public Schools announced the schedule for the district s gradual return to in-person learning. The number of new COVID-19 cases in Fayette County continues to decline, and according to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department, todayâs 7-Day average is down to 83. Together with the other transition factors in the FCPS In-Person Learning Matrix, this data enables us to continue our graduated return to in-person learning, the email stated.
The full schedule can be found below. The email also stated that remote learning will continue to be offered for students whose families chose that option.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) â Fayette County Public Schools says it anticipates conditions will allow the district to begin a graduated return to in-person learning beginning the week of February 16-19.
The district said in a letter that efforts to decrease infection rates appear to be working and the number of cases is trending downward, allowing them to allow a return to in-person learning in some capacity.

Efforts to curtail infection rates appear to be working, and we are excited to share that the 7-day average of COVID-19 cases is 168 today, trending down from a high of 264 in January. LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) â In an email sent out to Fayette County Public School families on Tuesday, Acting Superintendent Marlene Helm announced that FCPS will remain in remote learning until Jan. 29.
In a meeting on Jan. 5, Fayette County Board Members decided the district will remain in remote learning up until Jan. 22. On Tuesday, it was decided to extend remote learning until at least Jan. 29. Our goal is to begin graduated in-person learning the week of Feb. 1-5, 2021, the email stated. The data will determine whether we can begin a phased-in return â starting with grades K-2, and adding other grades in subsequent weeks â for students whose families chose in-person learning, or whether we will offer additional services for smaller groups of students.
