Water spewing into the air at least 200 feet or so during the height of this water main break. It started about 7 00 oclock this evening according to the philadelphia Water Department. They have been on the scene ever since. Some four hours later now trying to find this break and contain this break. Now, we were able to speak with a spokesperson from the Water Department a short time ago. He says this fight despite this seen it is not affecting the water supply of any of the homes ound this area. Heres what he had to say to us just a few moments ago. Pretty much were getting shut off as quickly as we can. While in the process were able to maintain Water Service for other customers if case we have to begin turning other valves off to fine the proper location for this valve. We will be back on the scene at 8 00 this morning. This main break has looked more like a geyser at grant avenue and blue grass road. At the height of the break the water was shooting 200 feet in the air. Philadelphia Water Department a says 10inch main is a fire Service Connection so no Water Services has been impact for customers in our area. That is good news. Crew where is working on the problem for five hours last night, one worker was injured and taken to the hospital in stable condition. Because working conditions became unsafe crews had had to stop for the night. You can tell they are running into some problems. It has been a challenge fining proper valves and right connections to this location but we are working to get this one shut down.
