Miriam Pace Ritratt: Newsbook
Judge Joe Mifsud today handed down a sentence to the two architects involved in the construction happening next door to Miriam Pace’s house, the woman who was buried under the rubble of her own home on 2nd March 2020. The sentence handed down was a fine and community work for both architects, despite being found guilty of involuntary murder.
Angry reactions met this sentence, particularly expressed by NGOs Repubblika and Moviment Graffitti.
Moviment Graffitti described the decision as being handed down by the “Courts of Injustice”, saying that it reflects how Malta completely disrespects the value of human life. It added that the sentence sends a message to developers saying that they can do whatever they want.
Chamber says it cannot take further action against architects found guilty of causing death
