EW Grobbel food company has purchased the former Alexander & Hornung meat processing plant in St. Clair Shores and expects it to be operational mid year.
Known for its deli salami, Landjaeger sausage, Canadian bacon and boneless spiral ham, Alexander & Hornung had been in business for over 70 years before being acquired by PPMC in 2020.
The processing plant where a popular brand of glazed ham and other meat products are produced will shut down later this year.
