protected him, he declassified the documents, but now that we are in the lane that he is accused of destroy destroying evidence, all those arguments go out the window, don t they? they do, and the only thing you can do as trump s lawyers is try to negotiate a plea deal for him. but it s very clear that that is not where donald trump is headed on this. to underline the point that charles was just making, this evidence is very good because prosecutors don t have to prove that trump succeeded in obstructing justice. what they have to prove is the attempt. and so now we have the statements from this new defendant, this new codefendant, where he is directly having conversations with trump, and following those conversations, which are documented, he then goes out and makes the statement to other people, who presumably, per franks is to of observation, there are
