Cal Fire says that crews were able to contain a small fire that was burning in heavy vegetation. The fire sparked near Franz Valley Road in the Mark West Spring area last night. Called the Leslie fire, the blaze was burning near the vicinity of Pepperwood Preserve, parts of which were burned by the Tubbs and Kincade Fires in previous years. It had spread about two acres before fire crews contained the blaze.
