Virgil van Dijk saluted Alisson’s leadership qualities after the Liverpool goalkeeper celebrated a century of clean sheets for the club following Saturday’s hard-fought win over Brentford.
The Brazil international became the seventh shot-stopper in the club’s history to reach the milestone as he followed in the footsteps of Elisha Scott, Tommy Lawrence, Ray Clemence, Bruce Grobbelaar, David James and Pepe Reina.
Alisson, who was making his 229th appearance for Liverpool, was presented with a special shirt by Jurgen Klopp to mark the achievement.
