what i m seeing are parents who, at pta, people volunteering, the bread and butter of our country. the people who do the work. who are really concerned and are working towards talking to each other. and they re talking about that a lot. and i just came from the national pta association, and it s what we were talking about is that we have to be able to regroup and talk to each other because the stakes were so high. and what i see around the country where ever i go is young people who are being bullied and teachers don t know what to do, we re working with teachers to know how to stand and speak out appropriately. what i m seeing around the country is people understanding that the stakes are incredibly high and we have to be able, and what i do every day is be able to reach out to people who might not necessarily agree with everything, and maybe disagree with me about things, but that we re going to be able to be the village that we need to be, that
your home or a relative s home and it s family time where you spend a lot of time in that home and you look behind here, it s overwming. you ve got 1,000-plus homes completely demolished. so many people displaced. has been under two weeks. this is a real reminder for these folks, a remainder of the new reality of their life. you can see they re out working here. this is a volunteer group called samaritans purse. they ve been working all morning long. people volunteering, coming here from around the region, from chicago, iowa, volunteering their within. another thing to be thankful for. the bottom line, an incredible shock to the community. yesterday a wonderful event in washington, hundreds of people got together and a prethanksgiving meal and talked about how thankful they are. all of a sudden, everything s taken away and you don t know what direction to move in. having little things like this, the ability to get together with
manager called me i said what? it was amazing to me. i almost had a heart attack. that would be redundant because i m already dead, on the show at least, but i thought it s such an honor to be acknowledged after this amount of time especially since we re enering our eighth season because i love what i do, and there was absolutely nokes pectation whatsoever. and i think probably first or second season i would have had a small expectation to be recognized and after that i was like, wow, that will never happen so to have it happen now is just a miracle and really an honor. well, you re up against some tough competition. seth green is also in that category. a lot of people who don t do the type of work you do on desperate housewives which does cross both sides so we re very happy for you. good luck. do you know what you re going to wear yet? i have no idea. in fact, i think i have a fitting after this so hopefully that mystery will be solved fairly soon. i m pretty sure you ll have
there are people like that you run into them wherever you go. and it s really hard to listen to. we re on three days now. and there s a lot of people volunteering. they just gave a press conference saying there s 5,000 people who volunteered and stuff. there s still 1500 people unaccounted for. there s a lot of frustrated parents who are being told you can t go to the morgue, you can t identify bodies, you got to wait a week or two. so there s a lot of questions about how organized this effort is. and whether it s going to be able to ramp up in the next day or so to get some of these parent s answers. for many, there aren t any answers right now. i ve been out today with a family of a young man named will norton who just graduated high school. was going home from the graduation ceremony with his dad when the tornado struck. they were in a hummer and an suv. his dad tried to hold on to will. will according to his dad s account, will got sucked up through the sunroof of the suv,
