For the Rev. Angus Thompson, it all comes down to the children of Wichita Falls ISD.
As the leader of a community group pushing for school equity, Thompson vocally opposed the bond voters approved Nov. 3 to build two new high schools in WFISD.
But the longtime community activist supports the $13.585 million bond proposition for athletics and recreational facilities for the two new high schools. I think to oppose that would be harmful to the children, said Thompson, pastor of New Jerusalem Baptist Church. The most important thing, I believe, is the children. We have to keep that in mind.”
While he backs this year s bond for the sake of the children, not all who have been active in People Invested in the Equity of Reallocating our Schools agree.
