Manslaughter. Robert bates says the shooting, caught on video was an accident. Bates is a 73yearold former Insurance Company executive. As a reserve deputy, he serves as an unpaid volunteer with the sheriffs department. Omar villafranca is in tulsa. Reporter robert bates walked into the tulsa county jail just before 10 a. M. A half hour later, he was released after posting a 25000 bond. Bates did not speak but his attorney Clark Brewster said this about the manslaughter charges feel theyre urn warranted and shouldnt have been brought. This case involves police in a tucson, arizona, suburb. An officer there used his police car to ram an armed suspect on february 19th. Our reporter has the story and the dramatic dash cam video.
