Public have the chance to have their say on town s future

Cumbria County Council has brought together local partners to create a town team for Penrith. It includes representatives from Cumbria CVS (Cumbria Council for Voluntary Service) S, Cumbria County Council, Eden District Council, Penrith Town Council, Penrith Business Improvement District, Penrith Chamber of Trade, and Penrith Industrial Business Improvement District, who are working together to develop a ‘place vision’ for Penrith. It is hoped the plan will attract new businesses, increase and retain the working age population, improve the environment of the town, deliver new jobs, and increase visitors. A spokesman for Cumbria County Council said: We want to use the new place vision to build local pride and confidence in the town, and to help us further develop Penrith as we reignite our economy following the Coronavirus pandemic.
