Bath man accused of gross sexual assault

Belfast A Bath man was charged with inappropriately touching two minors in a May 14 arraignment at the Waldo County Judicial Center.
Blair Demerchant, 36, was charged with two counts each of gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact from a January 2014 incident in Monroe. He was 29 at the time, and the two minors were both 10.
According to court documents, the mothers of the two children reported the incident to the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office May 9 after one child came forward saying they had been touched “inappropriately” when they were in the fourth grade in 2014.
