Driver Pulling Stolen Trailer Hits Five Cars During Chase, Wrecks In Downtown Indy
INDIANAPOLIS A man and a woman were arrested after stealing a trailer and leading police on a high-speed chase late Sunday night and into Monday morning.
Maj. Kerry Buckner with Indianapolis Metro Police said the chase started at around 9:00 p.m. Sunday after a man had picked a woman up at a Rally’s along Holt Road on the east side. Officers nearby noticed that the trailer had been reported stolen so they started chasing the pair.
“They fled southbound on Holt Road,” Buckner said. “They then got on I-70 going eastbound in the westbound lanes. At the point, our officers terminated the pursuit.”

Banks in the area were among those that were hit hardest, and it’s why Jeff Hendrix of the National Bank of Indianapolis has petitioned the city’s Historic Preservation Commission for permission to install roll-down steel shutters on the windows of the company’s headquarters at the intersection of Market and Pennsylvania Streets near Monument Circle.
“It is not our intent to roll these down nightly but only as needed for civil unrest or severe weather,” Hendrix told the Commission during its February 3
