Hartford Courant An ambulance employee placed on administrative leave was taken into custody in Pennsylvania Saturday after police say he set four fires across Connecticut. Richard White, 37, a Hunter’s Ambulance EMT, was charged Saturday night with burglary and arson, said Sgt. Paul Makuc of the State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit. He is a suspect in fires set at the firehouse and a private residence in Roxbury, Makuc said. Meriden police say White used a Molotov cocktail to set a fire at Hunter’s Ambulance in Old Saybrook and tossed a “lit object,” also a Molotov cocktail, at the ambulance holding bays in Meriden.

State police move into new headquarters to become Troop P, Wilkes-Barre

HANOVER TWP. — Goodbye Troop P, Wyoming. Welcome Troop P, Wilkes-Barre. The Pennsylvania State Police on Tuesday ended one era and started another by moving its longtime Troop P headquarters from Wyoming Borough to a state-of-the-art new facility in Hanover Twp. along the South Valley Parkway. “After 100 years approximately, PSP Wyoming is going back to its original roots in Wilkes-Barre,” Troop P spokeswoman Trooper Deanna Piekanski said. “There’s a lot of memories. There were a lot of friendships forged here. There’s a lot of history. But this will better enable us to keep up with the times and better serve our community.”
