Continuing the push for meaningful law enforcement reforms, Governor Tom Wolf today announced the members of the Pennsylvania State Law Enforcement Citizen Advisory Commission (PSLECAC) and the appointment of Sha S. Brown to serve as the Deputy State Inspector General for Law Enforcement Oversight. Brown will chair the commission.

Springfield, VA – -(AmmoLand.com)- Due to the legal action supported by Gun Owners of America (GOA), the Philadelphia Police Department Gun Permit Unit (GPU) began accepting applications for a license to carry firearms (LTCF) via electronic mail as of Monday, December 7, 2020.
GOA was the first gun rights organization to file suit against the City of Philadelphia for excessive delays in issuing LTCFs in the wake of the COVID crisis.
Gun Owners of America, Inc., et. al. vs. City of Philadelphia and Commissioner Danielle M. Outlaw was filed on October 5, 2020. The lawsuit sought to force the City to accept and process LTCF applications within the specified time required by law. The Philadelphia Police Department Gun Permit Unit (GPU) is once again accepting applications for a license to carry firearms after Gun Owners of America (GOA) filed suit against the city over excessive application processing delays amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Monday, the city of Philadelphia reopened its Gun Permit Unit (GPU) and began allowing residents to submit gun-carry permits by email, the Philadelphia Police Department website stated.
In October, GOA had filed suit against the city after applicants for gun-carry permits were experiencing excessive delays beyond the time period permitted by law. Gun Owners of America, Inc., et. al. vs. City of Philadelphia and Commissioner Danielle M. Outlaw sought to push the city into accepting and processing LTCF applications within the lawful time period.
