Adams County Children and Youth Services (CYS) has “seen more significant parenting issues, injuries, and isolation” during the pandemic within the past two years, according to Sarah Finkey, CYS administrator.
The move, which was spearheaded by UPUA, Lion's Pantry, and Housing and Food Services, comes in an effort to tackle food insecurity and student poverty at University Park.
With the United States is accepting up to 100,000 Ukrainian refugees, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf instructed schools to prepare to teach refugee children. The Department of Education issued guidance reminding schools that refugees have a right to an education. The first Ukrainian refugees to the Philadelphia region arrived earlier this week.
