I don’t know about you folks, but I cannot believe another season of fishing is already upon us! Poof! Even during the pandemic, time marches on!
Friday, May 14 is the start for walleye and pike season in the Ottawa River system up here at Swisha, for both Quebec and Ontario. The Ottawa River is divided down the middle and a reminder here that you cannot have any live or dead baitfish in Quebec waters. So, even if you are fishing in the Ontario side, be mindful that if stopped on the Quebec side with baitfish, you will be charged by Quebec wardens. This also applies to those crossing the bridge to launch here. The bait fish don’t have to be in the water to get a ticket.
