SD DOH: 149 total new COVID-19 cases statewide, two deaths statewide March 6, 2021 29 of the 149 total cases are considered as new probable cases. Two new deaths were reported, bringing the statewide death toll at 1,898. 23 confirmed cases were reported West River: six each in Meade and Pennington Counties, three in Mellette County, two each in Butte and Dewey Counties, and one each in Corson, Custer, Lawrence, and Tripp Counties. Six probable cases were reported West River: four in Fall River County, and one each in Gregory and Lyman Counties. In South Dakota, 2,109 cases are considered active, that number is up from 2,096 on Friday.

Pennington, Jackson County firefighters respond to Monday morning structure fire

KNBN NewsCenter1 February 15, 2021 JACKSON COUNTY, S.D. Firefighters from Jackson and Pennington Counties responded to a structure fire in the 24000 block of 206 Avenue in an un-incorporated area of Jackson County shortly after 11 a.m. on Monday. Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found a free-burning fire creating heavy smoke and visible flames in the interior of the residential structure. Weather conditions were extremely unfavorable, with temperatures at seven-below-zero and winds making it feel like 31 below.
