POLICE REPORTS FOR APRIL 28, 2021 By John Smathers Apr 28, 2021 | 3:35 PM A Brookville man who was caught with a stolen bicycle valued at $1,500 is facing criminal charges. According to ExploreJeffersonPA.com, Punxsutawney Borough Police filed criminal charges against 42-year-old Casey Spade. The charges stem from an incident on April 15 when police were contacted by Jefferson County Adult Probation to respond to Oakland Avenue to assist with recovered stolen property. At the scene, police were told Spade had a bike hidden under a tarp that a woman had reported stolen on April 14. The woman reportedly provided video surveillance of the theft to police.

Brookville, PA / KOOL 103.3 FM WKQL Apr 1, 2021 3:10 PM A DuBois man was arrested following a traffic stop in Clearfield County on Sunday. State Police in DuBois say charges of DUI and child endangerment will be filed against 25-year-old Lane Bigelow. Troopers say they noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from Bigelow’s vehicle after they had stopped him along Third Street in Troutville Borough. Police note an 8-year-old boy was a passenger in the vehicles. Troopers conducted a standard field sobriety test and found Bigelow to be impaired. A traffic stop last Friday led police to a discovery of what appeared to be a forgery operation in Punxsutawney.

PHH frontline workers to start receiving COVID-19 vaccine Friday

DuBOIS — Penn Highlands Healthcare will receive its first allotment of the COVID-19 vaccine Thursday, according to PHH Chief Operating Officer Mark Norman. “We’re pleased to come to you with good news this week. We are turning a significant corner in combating the pandemic,” Norman said during Wednesday’s media teleconference. Norman noted that Thursday’s rollout of the vaccine is the latest update PHH has received from Pfizer and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. “Of course, we are very encouraged to have a vaccine on its way to us, but it remains critical for our communities to understand our area is not through the worst of this pandemic,” said Norman. “It’s also important to note there is a period of a few weeks from the moment the first shot is administered until an individual is considered to benefit from maximum protection of the vaccine.
