A federal judge said he will rule by Jan. 1 whether to halt implementation of Iowa’s new law that has led some districts to pull books from libraries and classrooms.
The judge on Friday heard arguments from attorneys in two separate lawsuits challenging the new state law, which also bans the teaching of gender identity and sexual orientation through 6th grade.
