“Even though we have to continue to stay vigilant and alert in these uncertain times, we can faithfully and generously carry out our Lenten commitment as exhorted by Prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 58:10) ‘Feed the hungry and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.’
PENANG: The Diocese of Penang through the Penang Office For Human Development or Caritas. Penang has decided to contribute one hundred thousand ringgit from its Disaster Relief Account towards the flood relief in the East Coast and Johor.
Fr Joachim Robert the Chairman of POHD, conveyed this decision in a Jan 13 letter to all priests, religious and laity of the diocese.
RM50,000 was given to Caritas, Kuala Lumpur and the other RM50,000 was given to Caritas, Malacca Johore.

Greetings of Joy, Mercy and Hope! I send you fond greetings of Advent and Christmas as we prepare ourselves individually and as a community, during this Season of Grace. I wish to share with you some updates that have taken place during these months.
1. The Diocese of Penang through the Penang Office for Human Development (POHD) will be responding to the Appeal for Disaster Relief of the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent tropical cyclones which caused massive flooding and damage to those mentioned below from the Disaster Relief Account. The aid will be mainly used for shelter, food, protection, healthcare and support to rebuild their lives.
