The EFF in the Free State says it s encouraged by the fighting spirit of the SABC presenter who was brutally attacked and stabbed multiple times by her estranged husband in Bloemfontein.
The EFF s provincial chairperson, Mandisa Makesini, says although the news of Dimakatso Raletsane s attack was a painful experience, the party is glad that she is attending to the issue. She says they are inspired that Dimakatso is able to speak about the tale of her abuse at the hands of Mackenzie Raletsane, who is still in custody and facing charges of assault, kidnapping, attempted murder, and the possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition. Makesini says the gender-based violence (GBV) scourge in the Free State needs to be addressed and dealt with.

The estranged husband of SABC News presenter, Dimakatso Ratselane, is set to make his first appearance at the regional court in Bloemfontein on Thursday on several charges after the brutal attack on his wife.
Mackenzie Ratselane s case was postponed to today, in his absentia last month after he failed to make it to the court due to a COVID-19 scare at the correctional facility where he is in custody.
He was slapped with an additional charge of assault. Mackenzie, who was apprehended for allegedly stabbing Dimakatso multiple times, is now facing several charges including assault, kidnapping, attempted murder, and the possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.
