An anonymous street artist leaving murals on the walls of houses could end up netting you a small fortune, property experts have explained. A surprise piece of art appeared on the wall of Reading Prison yesterday (March 1) resembling a lot like Banksy s artwork. The piece depicts a prisoner escaping Reading Gaol carrying a typewriter, which could be the famous Oscar Wilde who was incarcerated for being gay. It is yet to be confirmed whether Banksy did do the painting or not, even though one expert definitely thinks so. But Banksy s style of paintings comes with a sense of meaning that s often known for delivering impactful political messages , explains craft specialists Diys.com.
Rother reports another drop in Covid cases but numbers remain extremely high
People living in East Sussex have been urged to continue protecting themselves and others after the latest Covid-19 statistics were published.
Monday, 1st February 2021, 1:23 pm
East Sussex County Council said case numbers across the county are still extremely high in all borough and districts but the rate of infection is continuing to drop in each area.
East Sussex s rate of infection for the seven days up to Sunday (January 31) was 309 per 100,000 people – exactly the same rate as reported across England as a whole.
In Rother, there were 221 reported cases in those seven days, which is down on the 291 cases reported the week before. The district s rate of infection is now 230 per 100,000 people.
HOUSES in a Sussex street containing a Banksy painting fetch a far higher price than those in the surrounding area, it has been found. Properties in Pelham Place on St Leonards seafront, where the anonymous artist chose to create his Tesco Sandcastle piece, are 170 per cent higher than houses elsewhere in the town. The painting shows a toddler in a sun hat building a series of sandcastles. Most have the word Tesco written on them. It appeared in August 2010, and Banksy confirmed it was a genuine piece later that month. Hastings Borough Council was so pleased with the piece it covered it with a Perspex sheet to stop it being defaced.
