Kota Kinabalu: Grant Thornton Consulting (M) Sdn Bhd, the receiver and manager for the now defunct and wound-up Sabah Forest Industries Sdn Bhd, failed in its bid to obtain a stay order against the Sabah Government’s acquisition of some 13,000 hectares formerly held by SFI.
A senior partner of Grant Thornton Malaysia who claimed trial to criminal breach of trust (CBT) and money laundering charges last year has been given a full discharge and acquittal by the court.
Grant Thornton Malaysia has stepped up to defend its country managing partner Datuk NK Jasani, who has been charged with eight counts of criminal breach of trust (CBT) in the Sessions Court on Wednesday. In a statement, Grant Thornton said it disagrees with the charges and will be vigorously defending Jasani with facts and evidence.
