Mass Audubon s Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary in Topsfield: Offers 12 miles of trails to explore the forests, meadows, wetlands, drumlin and esker; the sanctuary is part of the Eastern Essex County Interior Forest Important Bird Area.
Parker River National Wildlife Refuge in Newbury: Comprising more than 4,700 acres of pristine coastal habitat for more than 300 species of resident and migratory birds, as well as a large variety of mammals, insects, fish, reptiles and amphibians.
