If they are unable to furnish and care for their homes, they are more likely to be evicted or develop a poor rental history, especially during the housing crisis. A catastrophic train crash that resulted in a toxic fire in East Palestine, Ohio, has state lawmakers considering limits to the size of trains allowed to run in Nevada.
Assembly Bill 456 seeks to implement further regulation on the rail industry to avoid an event like the East Palestine train derailment from happening in Nevada by prohibiting the operation of trains that are more than 7,500 feet in length. The bill also includes provisions mandating that train crews be alerted when a detector system on the track finds a defect with the train.
