Allen Savant is due to graduate in May. He encourages others to pursue an education no matter what age.
1996 was an important year for former university student Allen Savant. It was the year he dropped out and moved to Idaho.
Savant lived in the now-demolished Holloway-Smith dorms on campus from 1994 to 1996.
Many wondered why he decided to move out to Idaho instead of completing his degree at the university. Savant explained that he wanted to start a family, and Idaho was the best place to do it, given that his wife at the time had family there.
“I dropped out to raise a family. My wife, at the time, wanted to move to Idaho because her grandmother lives there, so we moved,” Savant said.
“Segregation forever”
In his inaugural address at the Alabama Capitol in 1963, Wallace famously pledged, “Segregation now, segregation tomorrow, and segregation forever!” A rallying cry against racial equality, his words haunted him.
“I didn’t write those words about segregation now, tomorrow and forever,” Wallace told reporter Carl Rowan in 1991. “I saw them in the speech written for me and planned to skip over them. But the wind-chill factor was 5 below zero when I gave that speech. I started reading just to get it over and read those words without thinking. I have regretted it all my life.”
Despite those regrets, Wallace behaved as though he believed what he’d said. He forcefully opposed integrating Alabama’s schools and never punished the state troopers who, on March 7, 1965, turned a peaceful march across the Edmund Pettis Bridge into what came to be known as Bloody Sunday. Footage of troopers brutally beating voting rights marchers shocked the nation.

i do know there that like the brand x case, what the court says it was attempting to do is to discern what congress intent was under the ada, whether it intended to consider mixed motive or not as a factor in applying the statute and the majority holding, as i understood it, was, look, congress amended title 7 to set forth the mixed motive framework and directed the courts to apply that framework in the future. having amended that, it didn t supply that amendment to the age discrimination statute and so that would end up in a similar situation to the brand x case, which is to the extent that congress determines that it does want mixed motive to be a part of that analysis that it would have the opportunity and does have the opportunity to do what it did in title 7, which is to amend the act. title 7, they amended the act because they had to. they were forced to, right? congress was compelled to, in a sense but not on adea? i don t like characterizing the reasons for why c
