welcome back to hardball. is it time for the republican party to take on sarah palin? joe scarborough wrote today in politico that it s high time and he writes, it s time for the gop to man up. pat buchanan and msnbc contributor and david corn from mother jones. i see pat, he s already got his eyes ready to defend the womanhood and greatness of sarah palin. go ahead, pat, take on joe scarborough, your morning mate. what right has he to say the empress has no clothes? he has every right. he s got a voice. he believes sarah palin is not qualified to be president. i think peggy noonen s been very critical, other columnists have. but my view is this, i think she has earned a right, if she wishes to compete in the republican primaries, to have that competition and to try and prove she s fully qualified to be president.
president s agenda is likely to become somewhat more liberal because that s where the president s instincts have been. rahm may have been on the edge able to trim thing, but i think we ll see a steady march to the left after the elections congress more accuse tri and hampering. speaking of the tone, the tone in california is nasty, unions are going after meg whitman a republican running for governor out there attacking her over a former housekeeper that may have been an illegal alien, whether or not she knew is in question at this point. but the point here is, it is getting ugly out there in california, it is in louisiana. personal attacks, is that what s going to shape these november races ahead of mid terms? well, look, i thought for a long while that we would see a much uglier than normal fall when it comes to personal attacks. peggy noonen has an article.
