Lynda Hancock Allen, 74, remembered for her servant s heart and words of encouragement

Lynda Hancock Allen Lynda Hancock Allen, 74, passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021. She was born Aug. 22, 1946, to Emery Hancock and Pearl Hansley Creel. As a child, her sisters, Peggy Hood and Kathy Lackey, remember her sweet smile, happy disposition and making play out of everything she did. Their mother instilled in them a love for family, and they were always very close to each other. She is also remembered by them for being extremely loving and giving, having a fondness for the elderly, always making friends with them and helping in some way. Lynda attended Dixon High School, where she played basketball and met the love of her life, Stanley Allen. The high school sweethearts married after Lynda graduated high school on her birthday. The next year their daughter Susan was born followed by their daughter Sharon three years later, and they moved to Wilmington. Five years after that they welcomed their youngest daughter Shelly.
