It’s been less than a week since the Peel Regional Police Road Safety Services posted a generous reminder to its Twitter followers, but the earlier they get the message out, the better.
We can only assume the previous tweets and calls-to-action put in place last year haven’t yet reached the masses, because there was no shortage of trouble noise-makers, as well as 2020 Twitter content.
First on the list, a Brampton driver clearly missed the memo about not breaking two laws at once. They were pulled over for excessive noise, but then the officer discovered an even more serious offence and charged them with driving without insurance. Tsk tsk.
Sixty klicks over the limit in a city centre is not OK. Not with us, not with the law, and apparently not with the guy’s girlfriend either. According to the PRP Road Safety Services Twitter feed, “When told his car was going to be seized for 7 days his girlfriend got out of the car, slammed the door and walked away.”
Maybe it was all just a test by the driver to see if his girl was only in the relationship for the car – an expensive, dangerous, stupid test, which she actually passed by walking away from this situation.
Lost his car and girl in the same day. Officer caught driver doing 60km/h over the limit on Kennedy Rd in Mississauga. When told his car was going to be seized for 7 days his girlfriend got out of the car, slammed the door and walked away. It may have been posted April Fool’s Day, and, sure, it’s kind of funny, but fake license plates are no joke. Peel Region saw Ontario’s newest fake plate, or at least the newest one posted to social media a seemingly new trend.
The Peel Regional Police Road Safety Services posted this pre-Easter gift to its Twitter account. The tweet includes a picture of the officer’s vehicle and stopped truck with the questionable license plate, also pictured.
