The President, National Association of Nigerian Students, Lucky Emonefe, has vowed that his administration would fight against the increase in school fees across tertiary institutions nationwide.
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has called on the Nigeria Police Force to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of a 300-level student of Ebonyi State University, Ayogu Evans, who had an accident and died while being chased by policemen. SaharaReporters learnt that Evans died in a ghastly car crash on Saturday, December 2. The student of the Department of Sociology was allegedly chased by the policemen when he had the accident and was rushed to the hospital by passersby but was confirmed dead a few hours later.
The Convention Planning Committee of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has confirmed Pedro Obi, a Ph.D. student of Guidance and Counseling studies from the Delta State University as the President-elect of the association. The committee also asked security operatives to arrest impostors allegedly led by “one 48-year old politician, Lucky Emonefe” parading themselves as new leaders of the association. Emonefe, aged 48, had declared himself as the president-elect of the association.

He got 212 votes to defeat his closest rival, Lucky Emonefe who scored 83 votes. Emonefe, aged 48 is the preferred choice of the President’s son, Seyi.
