In the technology area, we already witnessed a different kind of thinking. Right now we still enjoy leadership and we still enjoy standard leadership. So were able to apply some of our influence. Over time come as you know, especially in the area of Technology Evolves very quickly. By not being there, we will very quickly lose our ability to impact. Once it is harmonized based on the United States standards, for example, all the businesses will suffer because that means we potentially have to create different that the products, different sets of services. That will ever stamp act our ability to expand commerce. Thank you are a match. Too many of the other panelists want to comment on that . Yes. I know john lancaster, we are colleagues together on the United States institute of peace. I dont mean to put words into his mouth, but it is their laments to it the United States can expect to do in terms of influence in other countries. You dont have to be exactly what we would like you to be
One is talking about what happened before the Affordable Care act. If we could take our seats and welcome to this important hearing this morning. The purpose of todays hearing is to explore the Success Stories of the rollout of the Affordable Care act in states throughout the country, where teamwork and cooperation has proven to be exceedingly effective. We will also hear from a federal panel that will talk about the federal rollout and some of the challenges that have presented themselves. Normally, we have the federal panel first and the state panel second, but at the discretion of the chair, i reversed it, but require the federal leaders to be here to hear from the state exchanges and from individual Business Owners about how the situation could be improved. Id like to begin by quoting, i think it was mark twain, who said, a lie can get halfway around the world before truth gets out of bed in the morning and puts its boots on. Insurance is real important. And today it hangs in the balance of a website or a promise here and there. It doesnt mean any government takeover. What the president said and everybody said all along, there are going to be changes brought about by the Affordable Care act. If the president knew that these letters were coming, that raises some serious questions about the sales job of obama care. These folks need to stop scaring everybody. Why are you cutting these people from their insurance . Well, dave, were not cutting people. Were actually transitioning people. Create minimum standards of coverage. Minimum services that every Insurance Plan has to provide. If he does not succeed with obama care, expansive liberalism, i think it will be set back a full generation. I refuse to see this country in all of us shrink from these struggles, which are our responsibility and our time. Because what we are now talking about in our childrens day will seem to be the ordinary business of government.
