With each small step forward, taken between chemotherapy treatments on the ninth floor of the Corewell Health Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, Connor Pung could only think of one thing as he steadily maneuvered his way through the hospital’s hallways he was strong enough to survive cancer. Nearly one year ago in May 2022, the Central Montcalm High School student, now an 18-year-old senior, was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
