THE Selangor government is looking into establishing a Green Council soon, hopefully by next year, to look into the state’s green policies and initiatives, said Selangor public health and environment committee chairman Jamaliah Jamaluddin.

KUCHING: A new retaining wall project will be built in Simunjan town to prevent further erosion of the riverbank, says Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.
He said the project was currently under study and expected to be conceptualised by the end of this year, with construction to start in 2022. This is an important project to mitigate erosion in Simunjan. A previous attempt to build a river wall was not so effective due to the soft peat soil in the area.
