Two bowlers at Desert Lanes Bowling Alley last Sunday achieved more than a split or a strike â they saved a life.
Merlin Cassens of Hermiston and Alan Humphrey of Stanfield were at Desert Lanes playing in the menâs City Bowling Tournament when a fellow bowler collapsed several lanes away.
âI didnât see him collapse,â Cassens said.
But several other people did. When Cassens heard the commotion he raced over to where Bill Barth fell.
âI checked for a pulse. There was no pulse. I checked for a breath there was no breath,â he said. âThen I told someone to call 911.â
