CBSA and RCMP lay charges in drug smuggling case

Working together, the Canada Border Services Agency and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police have laid charges in an international drug smuggling case.

According to a release from the RCMP, CBSA officers examined a family who flew from Montego Bay, Jamaica, to Pearson International Airport on February 7, 2021.

It comes on the heels of Quebec Premier Francois Legault announcing that non-essential stores, personal care salons and museums across the province will be permitted to reopen next week. A number of business in Alberta were also permitted to reopen last month amid declining case counts and hospitalization numbers in that province.
