For veteran Pearley Lachance, Saturday's parade was just another opportunity to bring attention to two decades of work to identify the names of the more than 700 veterans buried in an around Waterville without a proper military headstone.
The parade on Saturday, Nov. 11, is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. at The Elm at 21 College Ave. and proceed south on Main Street to Castonguay Square next to City Hall where a short ceremony will be held.
The Town Council gave preliminary approval Monday to consolidating the operations as part of a cost-saving move other towns such as Hampden have adopted.
