On Monday morning Joint Task Force Red Hill, the military organization responsible for draining the tanks at the Navy’s underground Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility, officially began the defueling process.
About 360,000 gallons of fuel have been added to pipelines at the Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility as part of an ongoing “repacking” process that will ultimately lead to the defueling of the facility’s jet fuel tanks.
The Navy this week reported accidental discharges of partially treated wastewater from its troubled wastewater treatment plant at Joint Base Pearl Harbor- Hickam.
