Gibson Thornley has given an office building at 78 Cowcross Street a brand new façade and rearranged its core
Retaining the concrete frame, the building’s façade has been completely remodelled, replacing a Postmodernist original designed by Powell-Tuck, Connor & Orefelt in 1988.

The existing medley of office buildings in three parts replaced and recast the premises of merchants JD Link & Son in 1988 for Smithfield Developments. Previously named Alderney House, its Postmodernist exterior mixed blockwork and concrete with rendered finishes enlivened by passages of light-blue tilework.
