While hot fishing for big tautog continues in Buzzards Bay, schoolie and slot-sized stripers are blitzing on peanut bunker and chasing herring fry along beaches and river mouths.

When COVID-19 temporarily shut down her event planning business, Marblehead mom Claudia Tauro decided to launch a new venture - baking and selling alfajores, traditional cookies from her home country of Argentina.
“Last year was terrible,” Taura said. “Around Christmas, I started making cookies and gave them to my friends and everybody loved the cookies. All my friends pushed me to do this.”
Tauro is one of several women in town who are launching and leading new businesses, despite the pandemic and economic downturn.
