me and put her knee in my back to. [inaudible] didn t know what happened next and if they were going to take it farther. you can t catch more of joyce s interview on msnbc.com. coming up next, california pivots on the pandemic. doctor jay blackstock is here to talk about their approach. at the top of the hour, people in ukraine are on high alert tonight. president biden will meet with his national security council tomorrow after a day of saber-rattling, what is russia going to do next? do next a quote today. we are farmers. bum-pa-dum, bum-bum-bum-bum i ve got moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. now, there s skyrizi. 3 out of 4 people achieved 90% clearer skin at 4 months, after just 2 doses.
i think he wants these sanctions but i think we keep talking about that will be swift and severe, made public. whereas i think the biden administration has been sort of waging what we call a hybrid warfare. against russia. a warfare of intelligence. kind of showing all of our cards, showing russia this is what we have. this is what we know. this is what we are able to obtain about you. i think zelensky is sort of ready for action. you know, we saw him meeting with macron today. i m wondering if there is a factual situation since macron seems to be in regular contact with putin and others are. josh, is there any sense that the white house tonight . that they are still maintaining a belief that diplomacy is still going to work? they are convening the national security council tomorrow. certainly. the white house has not close the door to diplomacy saying that up until the point that putin actually goes into ukraine, there is still an opportunity for serious diplomacy. the other thing
they re making today. and i think it fundamentally boils down to this. our country, the republicans, the leadership in our country, no longer believes in the constitutional democracy that has been with us for 40 years. they now believe that a man justifies the means approach. if they win elections, legally, they are for them. if they lose elections, they are against them. so they re really fundamental and no longer believe in our system of government, which is why they re partnership with putin, i don t think should surprise us, because it has become a complete ends justifies means party. but it s such a huge contrast when we partner with russia to defeat autocracy. now, the republicans are partnering with russia in order to establish autocracy. you know, evan, on fox news, tucker carlson, he questions why the united states would back ukraine over russia. take a listen. wait a second. why is it disloyal to side with
well, first, bravo to evan for running personal sacrifices for what s he s trying to do to save our democracy. bravo to evan for doing that. it s kind of fascinating. listen, there s been a consensus that you can t trust russia, or at least, the soviet union, ever since the bolsheviks revolution more than 100 years ago. we did decide in world war ii, that the enemy of our enemy is our friend, and we partner with a dictator, a brutal dictator, stalin. interesting glee, in order to save democracy s, and to defeat autocracy. and what i find so fascinating and ironic is that leaders of the republican party are now partnering with russia and vladimir putin, who has replaced stalin in this story, in order to establish autocracy and defeat democracy, and so, they ve completely gone 180 degrees from the decision-making we ve made in world war ii to the decision
our critical infrastructure is really an attack on our nation s oil. that would be a red line. it would be a red line to really any of our allies. you know, tracey, president biden has also been unusually forthcoming about intel on russia s plans and movements as a way to combat putin s disinformation campaign. let s take a listen. over the last few days we have seen reports of a major uptick in violations of the cease-fire by russian-backed fighters attempted to provoke ukraine and the donbass. we are also continuing to see more and more disinformation being pushed out to the russian public, including russian -backed separatists claiming that ukraine is planning to launch a massive offensive attack in the donbass. tracey, how effective has this strategy of transparency, i guess, how has it been affected judges from putin s plans? i m actually really glad to see it. i know that such strange thing to say.
