Chinese gaming studio miHoYo recently announced that the Theater Mechanicus tower defense event for Genshin Impact was live. Among the wealth of mechanics introduced via update 1.3, this one is perhaps the most interesting. Aside from being an entertaining diversion, players get the Peace Talismans after completing the challenge.
How To Play Theater Mechanicus
The new tower defense event is only available to players who have completed the Origin of the Lanterns quest and a Liyue Mechanicus quest. Also, players need one Xiao Lantern for each run of Theater Mechanicus. They can craft Xiao Lantern at any Crafting Bench in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact update 1.3 is out soon, with the huge new patch from miHoYo arriving on PS4, PCs, iOS and Android this week. Genshin Impact update 1.3 has a confirmed release date of Wednesday February 3, but for fans in Western regions prep work for this update will begin before then. And Genshin Impact fans in some areas will get to play update 1.3 before this date due to the patch launching simultaneously worldwide and time zone differences.

Genshin impact will be inviting players to celebrate the Chinese New Year in-game in February, with version 1.3 adding the Lantern Rite event to the game and promising a bunch of rewards.
Starting on 3rd February (ahead of Chinese New Year which falls on 12th February in 2021), the Lantern Rite will be celebrated in Liyue Harbor.

Heading to Liyue Harbor and taking part in the tradition will see players rewarded with over 1,600 Primogems, a free four-star Liyue character and other rewards.
You’ll have to work for those Primogems, though. Travellers will be asked to help assist in setting up Liyue Harbor for the festivities, the ritual releasing of lanterns on the first full moon of the year. There will be three stages to this, each with a series of request from citizens asking for your help in getting ready. Completing requests will raise the Festive Fever level and unlock more quests and stories.
