NPHL cancels remainder of season, NWJHL to postpone play until January 9

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The North Peace Hockey League and the North West Junior Hockey League have made some announcements about the 2020-21 season as restrictions from COVID-19 continue to hamper on-ice action. On Thursday, December 10, NPHL President Jack McAvoy announced that the League will be cancelling the remainder of the season after many postponements of games as cases of COVID-19 continue to rise across Alberta. The NWJHL also made an announcement on Thursday, stating that the League will postpone regular-season play until January 9, with hopes of restrictions being lifted by then to continue to play in the new year.
