Leslie Williams-Dunn was standing by her kitchen counter in Peabody Tuesday morning when she heard a loud, unsettling sound that caused her 25-year-old
son to come rushing from his room.
âI thought a tree limb had crashed on our house,â said Williams-Dunn, who teaches kindergarten. âThe sound lasted maybe five or six seconds, and it felt like it was coming from above.â

PEABODY, MA Peabody is not playing the waiting game when it comes to this snowstorm.
The city declared a snow parking ban Wednesday morning. The ban is to go into effect at 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
The ban is ahead of what is looking like the first major storm of the winter where much of Southern New England could get more than a foot of snow.
